The Opening Ceremony of Martin Centre

Martin Centre for Appliable Linguistics, an internationally oriented research center focusing on systemic functional linguistics and its applications named after Prof J R Martin, was officially launched at Shanghai Jiao Tong University on 12 April 2014.
SJTU Vice President Zhang Ansheng and Executive Dean Hu Kaibao of School of Foreign Languages unveiled the name plaque of the Centre.
Six lectures were given by prominent Chinese scholars – Prof Hu Zhuanglin, Prof Yang Xinzhang, Prof Xu Shenghuan, Prof Zhu Yongsheng, Prof Zhang Delu and the Martin Centre's Executive Director Prof Wang Zhenhua – at the ensuing Appliable Linguistics Forum.
