Martin Centre for Appliable Linguistics of the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University is now recruiting Post-doc research fellows from home and abroad.
Supervisor and Research Fields
Supervisor: Prof. Wang Zhenhua
Research fields: forensic linguistics; discourse semantics
Proficiency in Corpus linguistics technology, audio/video analysis using UAM, Praat, Elan, MMAV, etc. is a decisive advantage for applicants.
Contract term and extension
The post-doc research fellow must work at Shanghai Jiao Tong University for a period of two years. Application for extension of post-doc fellowship must be filed for assessment three months prior to ending of the contract with the supervisor’s consent; and the extension must not exceed one year.
Salaries and benefits
The basic annual salary for post-doc research fellows is RMB￥80,000 (for those who have received their PhD degree from universities ranking world top 100), or RMB￥60,000 (ranking 101 and below), personal income tax, social insurance and housing fund included.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University maintains commercial medical insurance and personal accident insurance for post-doc fellows from overseas, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Post-doc fellows graded A in their annual assessment are awarded RMB￥4,000; those graded B are awarded RMB￥2,000. The award is not applicable to the extended period.
Post-doc fellows on non-private trip out of mainland China for over 3 months receive a basic monthly salary of RMB￥1,500 only.
Post-doc fellows can choose either to rent a post-doc apartment of SJTU or to rent an apartment off campus. Those renting an apartment off campus are granted a monthly rental subsidy of RMB￥2,200.
