August 1994-September 2000: Chinese language teachers in primary schools and English teachers in middle schools
2001 to now: full-time/part-time senior translator in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Xiamen, translating technical documents in such fields as telecommunication, electric/ electronic manufacturing, law and commerce
July 2006- July 2007: assistant lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages, Fujian Institute of Education; courses offered including pragmatic translation, linguistics, and lexicology
July 2011-to July 2013: Postdoctoral research fellow, Institute of Linguistics, School of International Studies, Zhejiang University; research subject: a social semiotic approach to educational linguistics
September 2013-now: Department of English & Martin Center for Appliable Linguistics, School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
