Recently, the list of winners of the 16th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award was announced, and 3 works from the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University were listed. Among them, Professor Liu Jianjun's book "Research on the Process of" Sinicization "of European and American Literature in the Past Hundred Years" (6 volumes) won the first prize, and Professor Peng Qinglong's paper "Digital Humanities Approach to Comparative Literature: Opportunities and Challenges "and Professor Xu Xu's paper" Age of Acquisition Ratings for 19,716 Simplified Chinese Words "won the second prize.

The Shanghai Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences is the highest award for philosophy and social sciences in Shanghai under the leadership of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee. It is granted every two years with the aim to encourage forward-looking, innovative and scientific research in philosophy and social sciences, to mee the needs of reform and opening up and socialist modernization, and to promote the prosperity and development of philosophy and social sciences in Shanghai. The 16th Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award consists of three categories: Academic Contribution Award, the Party's Innovative Theoretical Research Outstanding Achievement Award, and Discipline Academic Outstanding Achievement Award.

The School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has always attached great importance to scientific research, encouraged and supported the facaulty to actively explore and innovate, strive to make high-level scientific research achievements, and continuously promote organized scientific research work. In recent years, the SFL has made continuous progress in the publication of high-level papers and academic works, and the establishment of national scientific research projects, while achieving many breakthroughs in the field of scientific research awards. The SFL faculty has won many awards in the 8th Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education (Humanities and Social Sciences), the 14th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award and the 15th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award. The achievement is inseparable from the policy incentive and system guarantee of the SFL and the university, as well as the hard struggle and hard work of all the SFL teachers. Next, the SFL will continue to do well in organized scientific research to promote greater breakthroughs in academic research.
