On October 14, Zhang Ansheng, Vice President and Member of the CPC SJTU Standing Committee, visited School of Foreign Languages for work investigation. Ding Jian, Secretary of CPC SFL Committee, Chang Hui, Executive Associate Dean, Zhang Hongmei, Associate Dean, Xing Lianqing, Vice Secretary of CPC SFL Committee, Peng Qinglong, Associate Dean of SFL, as well as middle-level cadres and teachers' representatives attended the meeting.

Centering upon the 14th Five-Year Plan, Chang Hui made a brief report on the SFL from the aspects of party building, moral education, teaching staff, scientific research and social services.

The main leaders and teachers' representatives made further exchanges on school-running conditions, discipline development, enrollment scale and scientific research.

Zhang Ansheng fully affirmed the development of the SFL in recent years. He stressed that SFL should continue to improve and implement the “Fourteenth Five Year Plan”, to take the initiative in meeting the university’s development goals, fully dig into SFL’s resources, explore SFL’s development characteristics, merge into the mainstream, maintian characteristics, constantly seek and create opportunities to make new contribution to SJTU’s new development strategy of “comprehensive, innovative, international orientation”.
